The wedge is the key component of a PT anchorage system to lock the steel strands inside the conical hole of anchorage head such that the PT strength can be effectively transmitted into the structural concrete. The patterned wedge of BE (BEW) is produced by the forging method to increase the material strength and is the first of its kind in the world. The main advantage of BEW is its tremendous stability and reliability, while with much less usage of raw materials.
